8 Day touring and workshop trip to Jaipur accompanied by India Textile Company
A chance to visit Jaipur with a small group of like-minded designers & adventurers
India can be a tricky place to navigate, stepping off the plane into the wall of taxi hawkers can be intimidating the first time if you are not confident about your next step. We have been there, have made many mistakes and ended up in the strangest of places, this tour is to give you an introduction and something of a shortcut into Indian travel. We will show you our spicy, colourful, favourite bits of Jaipur whilst having the opportunity to learn the traditional craft of block printing on an extended three day workshop.
After more than a decade of travelling and working throughout India we have a beautiful array of artisans, fooderies and heritage sites that we are excited and waiting to share with you in a small, relaxed group.
Our 8 day FEBRUARY 2027 tour will be offered at £2,600. A deposit of £600 is all you need to secure your place.
We need a minimum of 6 people to proceed with the tour, so please wait for our confirmation before booking further travel plans.

We will be staying in Hotel Narais Niwas Palace in Jaipur and UNESCO awarded Haveli Dharampura, both a haven in the heart of the cities. Narais with it’s outdoor pool, spa, open gardens and multiple restaurant options it is a lovely place to relax and unwind after a full day.

Join us for a 6 day block print workshop in Jaipur
“Lizzie’s block printing tour of Jaipur was everything I’d hoped for and more. I had a wonderful, magical time with a great group of women, learning lots about this area of India and, of course, about block printing and other textiles. We have worked with Deepak, our block printer in Bagru, for many years and love spending time with him on his family farm. An hour’s drive from Jaipur, a sandy track from the road, past the goat farmers and the camels, you arrive to a hive of printing activity and a cup of steaming chai. Here we work through two different types of printing techniques spending one day on mud resist printing and one on pigment printing. Lunch will be provided on both these days.
ITINERARY
ARRIVAL DAY ONE / Sat 28th - Collection from Delhi airport before midday. Refresh, swim and lunch in the aerocity hotel before boarding an Indian train to take us into Jaipur.
DAY TWO / Sun 29th - Local Jaipur sightseeing with tour guides and textile conservation expert.
DAY THREE / Mon 1st - First day Block Print workshop in Bagru with Deepak and his team. Learn about pigment printing, walk around the town and visit different artisans to understand their role in the whole ancient process. Print own fabric, lunch with the family.
DAY FOUR / Tues 2nd - Second day Block Print workshop in Bagru. Learn the mud print technique, Dabu. Visit the block carvers and learn how the natural colours fix to the fabric. Print own dabu fabric, lunch with family.
DAY FIVE / Weds 3rd - Market day - flowers, jewellery, textiles. An afternoon wandering around the bazaars.
DAY SIX / Thurs 4th - Third day Block Printing, your chance to choose either Dabu or Pigment and having refined your designs you can spend the day printing your own runs of cotton.
DAY SEVEN / Fri 5th - Local Jaipur sightseeing day.
DAY EIGHT / Sat 6th - Travel to Delhi, stay in old City UNESCO awarded Haveli and enjoy final beautiful dining experience.
DAY NINE / Sun 7th - Depart from Delhi airport
FLIGHTS - please arrive to Delhi Airport by 11AM on SATURDAY 27th FEBRUARY 2027. This is to enable us to catch our train after a welcome refresh at the Aerocity hotel. At the end of the trip we will be staying in Delhi SATURDAY 6th MARCH 2027 so you can organise return/ onward travel from there.

VACCINATIONS - Please research into what vaccinations you need and whether you already have them. Your GP should offer free advice and quite often offer the vaccinations free of charge.
